Mr. Ganapathy Dhanasekar is an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant currently working at the NHS with the Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals [NLAG] NHS Trust covering Scunthorpe General Hospital in Scunthorpe, Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby and Goole District Hospital.
He attained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from University of Madras, India, in 1992.
He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS ENT) in 2000 and attained the exit exam FRCS(ORLHNS) in 2008.
He then attained a Master’s in Medical Sciences (MMedSci) from Keele University, Stoke on Trent, in 2009.
He has been an ENT Consultant since 2011. He completed his higher surgical training in ENT in the West Midlands rotation which included all the major busy hospitals in Birmingham including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
After completing his training he underwent a further Rhinology fellowship under Prof. Nick Jones at Nottingham. He has also been on a few travelling fellowships to Portland, Zurich and Amsterdam to visit eminent facial plastic surgeons to increase and consolidate his surgical skills.
He specialises in all aspects of ENT including paediatric ENT, which ranges from simple wax removal to complex procedures like Thyroid & Parathyroid surgery.

He is keen on Teaching and he teaches junior doctors & ENT trainees on a regular basis. He also runs a ENT refresher course for the General Practitioners under the auspices of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
He has also widely presented in ENT conferences nationally and internationally.
It is his desire to continue to undertake audits, research and practice evidence-based medicine.
