Mr Dhanasekar has been a medical practitioner since 1992 and has been a Specialist ENT Surgeon since 2000. He completed his ENT surgical training in the West Midlands rotation which included the Birmingham Children Hospital.
As an ENT consultant and one of the qualified ENT Surgeons since 2011, he has extensive experience in the medical & surgical management of general ENT conditions.
He is keen on research and he has been awarded a Masters (MMedSci) from Keele University. In addition to a rhinology fellowship under Professor Nick Jones, he has been on several other international travelling fellowships.
He is also keen on teaching as well and is a Honorary Senior Tutor in the Hull York Medical School (HYMS).
Ear conditions such as simple wax removal, treatment of ear infections, managing tinnitus, vertigo, hearing loss and surgical procedures such as the closure of ear drum perforations and correction of prominent ears are all performed by qualified Ear Surgeon Mr Dhanasekar at our ENT Specialist Clinic.
Nose and sinus conditions such as blocked nose, bent nose, nasal polyps, sinusitis, runny nose, catarrh and facial pain will be carefully assessed with a good history taking and a thorough examination in the clinic by Mr Dhanasekar. He then deals with these conditions medically and surgically if needed.
Mr Dhanasekar, as a Throat Specialist Doctor, sees patients with throat problems such as a sore throat, lump in the throat, throat clearing, lousy breath and snoring. In his clinic rooms, he examines patients with a flexible endoscope to look at the back of the throat and a voice box to rule out any sinister pathology.
Mr Dhanasekar sees patients in his clinics with neck swellings and lumps. He would then organise investigations such as an Ultrasound, CT or MRI scan to get more information and then manage the lumps either by surgery or careful observation.
Mr Dhanasekar, as an Ear Nose Throat Doctor, communicates very well with children and usually establishes a great rapport with them. He does see children with ENT problems in the appropriate private hospitals and also does surgical procedures such as Adenoidectomy, Tonsillectomy and Grommet insertions.
Mr Dhanasekar, as a Throat Specialist Doctor, has special expertise in surgically treating patients with Thyroid & Parathyroid problems. He is a member of the British Association of Endocrinologists & Thyroid Surgeons [BAETS] and regularly inputs his surgical data onto their website and audits his results against national standards.
